Greg Oden

Drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in June 2007, Greg Oden was a star player at Ohio State University, which he led to the Big Ten Championship in 2007. Greg Oden was born in Buffalo, New York, but moved as a young boy with his family to Terre Haute, Indiana. On January 29, 2007 The Big Ten recognized Oden as “Player of the Week” for his amazing point average of 18 and 11.5 rebounds from the previous week. More recently, on November 23, 2009 Oden scored 24 points in a game, matching is previous career record high. On December 1 he topped his previous high for rebounds, with a new record of 20.

Wilt chamberlain

Born Wilton Norman Chamberlain, Wilt was born in 1936 and died on October 12, 1999. He played for such star teams as the Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers. Wilt Chamberlain also played for the Harlem Globetrotters in 1958-1959, which was an exhibition team which entertained through athleticism, comedy and theater. Wilt has the distinction of being the only basketball player in history to average more than 40, and also 50 points in a single season, or to score 100 points in one single NBA game.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is one of the greatest basketball players in history. He was born in 1963, and made his first impression playing for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he helped bring his team, the Tar Heels, to the National Championship in 1982. In 1984 Jordan joined the Chicago Bulls and soon rocketed to stardom as a crowd pleasing and prolific scoring athlete.

Shaquille O’Neal

Affectionately known as Shaq, Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal was born on March 6, 1972, and wears many hats, including those of rapper, actor, U.S. Deputy Marshal and reserve police officer. He is recognized widely as a basketball player that dominates the court, standing in at 7’1” and weighing in at 325 pounds. Shaquille is not shy about using is bulk to overpower his opponents on the court, wresting away many points and rebounds through his shear presence.
